Dreams is the Fleetwood Mac single, taken from Rumor, one of the best-selling albums of all time. Rolling Stone magazine put the album in the twenty-fifth position in the ranking of the most important albums in history, Rumors brings the band to a new rebirth after the transition period due to the leaving of Peter Green and the addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. From the initial blues-rock imprint, the band inaugurates a new phase characterized by a mainstream rock (or a pop twist).

Macy Gray has been defined the protagonist of the new soul and one of the most characteristic exponents of the American rhythm and blues.
In 2000, the song won the Grammy Award for best female pop voice performance and was named disco and song of the year.
Sunrise (2003) – Simply Red, Home
Sunrise is the first single from the album Home, composed by the English pop-soul band Simply Red.
The collection was entirely self-produced by the Simplyred.com label founded by Mick Hucknall, the group’s frontman. With an essential stylistic line, characterized by a classy pop and airy melodies, the song turned out to be a great success, a record for a self-produced album.
Happiness (2008) – Goldfrapp, Seven Tree
Goldfrapp is a British musical duo formed in 1999, made up of Alison Goldfrapp, the singer, composer and keyboardist exponent of Bristol’s trip hop, and Will Gregory, originally a composer of film soundtracks. With the album Seventh Tree, which includes the single Happiness, the group returns to its stylistic origins featuring melodies that range between a dreamy pop and electronic music. Happiness published in 2008, presents a combination of rarefied electronics and culture pop.
Shake it out (2011) – Florence and The Machine, Ceremonials
Shake it out is among the most successful singles of the British band formed in 2007 from the partnership between the English singer Florence Welch and the band The Machine.
From the album Ceremonials, it is a song with gospel, baroque pop and indie rock sounds that stands out for the original instrumental accompaniment of organs, bells and tambourines.
The song was used as a soundtrack in the seventh season of the American television series How I met your mother and in the third season of Glee. At the 55th Grammy Awards in 2013, it was named Best Pop Duo / Group Performance.
The look (2011) – Metronomy, The English Riviera
The Look is one of the singles of the English band to be included in the album of their maturity and stylistic awareness: The English Riviera. With this production, the London group, founded by the musician and producer Joseph Mount in 1999, realizes a manifesto of electro-pop melancholy, in which jazz, world music and Latin music converge.
The less I know the better (2015) – Tame Impala, Currents
Tame Impala is an Australian psychedelic rock band founded by Kevin Parker, band leader, guitarist and singer. Their third studio album, Currents, published in 2015, is an example of psychedelic rock in which synthesizers become protagonists.
With the single The Less I Know the Better the group leaves the psychedelic hippy of the 60s in the background to get a more funk interpretation.
Mystery of love (2017) – Sufjan Stevens
Mystery of love is a song by Sufjan Stevens written for the soundtrack of the film Call me by your name, by Luca Guadagnino (2017), awarded in 2018 with the Academy award for the best song. Sufjan Stevens is a contemporary songwriter with a multifaceted style, ranging from folk to electronics, and then opens up to orchestral arrangements, creating intense and airy compositions.
Favorite song (2017) – Sinkane, Life & livin’ It
The Sinkane is a band of eclectic style, difficult to be defined, founded by the African American Ahmed Gallab. Between the ethno-soul-pop and the ethno-funk-electronic, their peculiar sonority derives from the simultaneous presence of artists of different cultures. Favorite song is taken from the album Life & livin ‘It, the sixth studio work that combines blues with funky, rhythm’n’blues, pop and electronics.
Low (2018) – Lenny Kravitz, Raise Vibration
Lenny Kravitz is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, but also a record producer and talented actor. Winning four consecutive Grammy Awards for “Best Male Rock Vocal Performance”, set the record for the category. Low is the second single from the US singer-songwriter extracted from his eleventh album Raise Vibration, released in 2018. The song sees a brief appearance by Michael Jackson: it is an excerpt from a previous recording of the American multi-instrumentalist and the King of Pop.
